RAPOON is an ethno-ambient musical project of Robin Storey from England. While studying fine arts, Robin Storey began pursuing a long-held interest in sound manipulation by taking classes in electronic and experimental composition. In 1979 he formed the pioneering industrial group :zoviet*france: and started to work solo as RAPOON in 1992. The first RAPOON album Dream Circle with its entrancing fusion of Indian ragas, African rhythms and experimental textures anticipated the evocative soundscapes of the many releases to follow. Until today RAPOON published more than 50 CDs, EPs and vinyls.

Robin Storey collaborated with many artists including Joachim Roedelius (Cluster, Harmonia), Steven Wilson (Bass Communion, Porcupine Tree), Nigel Ayers (Nocturnal Emissions) and Randy Grief. He is also a long standing partner of Mark Spybey (DVOA). They perform and record together as REFORMED FACTION.

Besides being musician, Robin Storey is a noted visual artist, painter and animator. His works were exhibited throughout the world, including the Berlin Museum of Modern Art and The Pushkin Museum Moscow.

As well as producing his own abstract animated films he has produced soundtracks for award winning Independent films including Randy Grief's “The Three Trials” and Nadine Shamounki’s “Effaced”, did sound design work for Sony media and produced music used in TV advertising.

At ZugZwang IV the public will be gripped inevitably by the sound of RAPOON with its stunning drones and loops.
